If you are longing for connection, looking for direction, searching for meaning or seeking authenticity, come and join us and experience a genuinely joyful and inclusive community of Christian faith.
We try to model ourselves after the first disciples who came from diverse backgrounds but joined in Christian unity through Jesus who guides us, the Holy Spirit who equips us and our God who created us.
On a half acre of land purchased for $1 from Pinkney and Nancy Blair in 1884, Methodists built what many later described as the ‘cog of the community’ after a Methodist Episcopal Class was organized on April 21st, 1873, with Rev. J.H. Allyn. It had met in the log hut school on that same site. One hundred and fifty plus years later, “The Little White Church on the Hill” still stands a beacon in Fern Prairie.
John Wesley (the founder of Methodism described what he founded as ‘The Connexion’ (his spelling). Connexions are still being fostered between old and new, young and old as we strive to be drawn together in our common faith in Jesus.
The building is handicap friendly and our restrooms are gender-neutral, accessible and lockable.
Our services are a casual blend of traditional and contemporary worship styles.
After worship we stay for chat, sip tea and coffee and enjoy snacks. On the third Sunday, we have a family meal.
We are a lay led (member led) congregation, which means that we do not have a full-time pastor. However, we have rotating retired pastors who fill the pulpit on some Sundays and a few dedicated and equipped members who preach God’s Word when clergy are absent.
Once a month (usually on the fourth Sunday of the month), the retired Rev. Keith Hackett joins us, leads worship, preaches, and celebrates Holy Communion with us. Note: he is also available for weddings and funerals.
